Best-selling products on Shopee: how to find them with the Sales Assistant and choose profitable ones

To see Shopee's best-selling products, use the Sales Assistant in Seller Center under Business Insights. It shows the top 30 by subcategory (by units sold), trending products (growing search interest), similar products, and the most searched keywords from the past 7 days, always in categories where you already sell. Watch the price: for items up to R$ 79,99, Shopee charges 20% plus R$ 4,50 per item, and a top seller priced at R$ 34,90 may leave less than an 8% margin.

The Sales Assistant is the best research tool Shopee offers, and almost no one uses it to its full potential. I'll show you what each view reveals and how to turn the list into a buying decision.

#The four views in the Sales Assistant

Overview What it shows What it's for
Best-selling products Top 30 by subcategory, by units sold See what's selling today
Trending products Percentage increase in searches Capture demand before the competition
Similar products Items similar to yours Expand your catalog with products that fit
Most searched keywords Ranking from the last 7 days Write a title and choose variations

One important limitation: only categories where you already sell will appear. To research a new category, you need at least one listing in it.

Shopee itself recommends focusing on the three main keywords for each product. Use them in the title, just as buyers type them.

#The problem with the low-priced bestseller

Shopee has a lot of sales for products under R$ 80, exactly where the fixed fee has the biggest impact. Here's an example of a product that costs R$ 18, with 6% tax and R$ 0,60 packaging:

Price charged by top sellers Shopee fees Profit per sale Margin
R$ 34,90 R$ 11,48 R$ 2,73 7,8%
R$ 39,90 R$ 12,48 R$ 6,43 16,1%

Five reais on the listing changes the margin from 7.8% to 16.1%. If the bestsellers in that subcategory are priced at R$ 34,90, selling there leaves no room for ads, returns, or any mistakes.

And below R$ 20, the math gets even harder: the fixed fee alone is more than 20% of the price. To make the numbers work for low-priced products on Shopee, sell them as a kit with two or three units in the same listing, so the fixed fee is charged only once.

#How to use the Assistant's keywords in your title

The keyword overview shows what buyers searched for in the last 7 days. Here are three rules for using it well:

  1. Start with the main search term, just as it appears in the list, not the product's brand name. If people search for "rotating spice rack", put that phrase first.
  2. Add one or two details that help the right buyer find your product: material, size, quantity. Adding "3-piece set" to the title also helps buyers understand the price.
  3. Don't repeat keywords. Using the same term three times in a title won't improve its ranking and may put buyers off.

Review the titles of your top 20 products every month, because keyword rankings change with the seasons and shopping events.

#Avoid price thresholds

Shopee has three price thresholds where your payout drops even when you charge the customer more: R$ 80, R$ 100, and R$ 200. A product priced at R$ 80 earns you R$ 6,69 less than one priced at R$ 79,99. If the bestseller list shows top sellers just above a threshold, you may be able to come in just below it, with a lower price and a higher payout. I explain these dead zones in Shopee's three price thresholds.

In practice. A home organization store used the Sales Assistant and found a spice rack among the subcategory's bestsellers, with top sellers priced at R$ 24,90. At that price, its margin was 6% based on her costs. Instead of giving up, she created a kit with two spice racks for R$ 49,90, just R$ 0,10 more than buying two separately. The R$ 4,50 fixed fee was charged once for both, and the margin rose from 6% to 16%. Profit per kit was R$ 7,95, compared with R$ 2,98 from two separate sales.

#How to use "Trending products" to your advantage

The trending products overview shows search growth, not sales. It's the best chance to get in before dozens of sellers react and prices drop. Keep two things in mind:

  • Seasonal trends don't last. Products tied to holidays can rise and fall quickly. Buy enough stock for weeks, not months.
  • A product with rising searches but no offers may be hard to find. Make sure you have a supplier who can restock it at the same cost.

#What to check before buying stock

  1. Demand: It's in the subcategory's top 30 or trending.
  2. Top sellers' prices: Note the prices of the top five.
  3. Margin at top sellers' prices: Include commission and the fixed fee for that price range, cost, tax, and packaging. Aim for more than 20% before ads.
  4. Price thresholds: Is the price below R$ 80, R$ 100, or R$ 200, or well above them?
  5. Kit: If the product is low-priced, would selling it as a kit make the numbers work?

The full fee breakdown, by price range, is in Shopee fees in 2026. And if you sell on both marketplaces, compare the same list on Mercado Livre: best-selling products on Mercado Livre.

#From Sales Assistant to profit

The Sales Assistant answers “what sells.” It doesn’t answer “what makes me money,” because it doesn’t know your costs. The Milewa calculator handles that second calculation in seconds: price, cost, and tax, with the applicable Shopee fee tier. Once you add a product, Milewa shows the real margin on each sale, including the commission and fixed fee Shopee charged, so you can see whether your best-selling product is also your most profitable.

#Frequently asked questions

How do you see the best-selling products on Shopee?

In Seller Center, go to Business Insights, then Sales Assistant. It has four views: best-selling products (top 30 by subcategory, based on units sold), trending products (increased search activity), similar products, and the most-searched keywords in the last 7 days. Only categories where you already sell will appear.

What sells best on Shopee?

It varies by category and week, which is why the Sales Assistant is better than any ready-made list. In general, Shopee sees a lot of sales in home, fashion, beauty, and accessories priced under R$ 80. The key thing to watch is price: in this range, the fee is 20% plus R$ 4,50 per item, and low-priced bestsellers often have very slim margins.

How do you choose a profitable product to sell on Shopee?

Find demand in the Sales Assistant, check the prices top sellers charge, and calculate your margin at that price, including the commission and fixed fee for that tier, your cost, tax, and packaging. Look for products that leave you with more than 20% before Ads and can be priced below the R$ 80, R$ 100, and R$ 200 thresholds.
