How much do you really keep from each sale?

On Mercado Livre, the commission depends on the category: in Classic it's usually between 10% and 14%, and Premium adds 5 points. The calculator starts at 12%; replace it with your category's percentage in “Adjust fees and costs.” Promotions with cost sharing also reduce the commission on some orders.

Up to R$ 18.99, the buyer pays for shipping and you pay a per-unit cost, up to half the price. From R$ 19 to R$ 78.99, Mercado Livre gives free shipping to the buyer and charges you a single per-unit cost, based on weight and price range. From R$ 79, you offer fast free shipping, and the shipping cost changes range: you pay by weight, with a reputation discount. No. Since March 2026, Shopee's commission (14% to 20%, depending on the price range) plus the fixed fee per item already include the transaction fee and the Free Shipping Program. We checked with real order statements: there is no separate charge. Any calculation that adds another 14% “transaction fee” is charging the commission twice.

TACOS is the share of your revenue that goes to sponsored listings (Mercado Ads, Shopee Ads). If you spend R$ 10 on ads for every R$ 100 sold, TACOS is 10% — and that R$ 10 comes out of the profit from every sale, even those not from the ad.

The effective rate of your tax regime on the sale. In Simples Nacional (commerce) it starts at 4% and increases with revenue; 6% is a common starting point. For MEI, the tax is a fixed monthly amount (DAS): leave 0% here and treat DAS as a fixed expense. If in doubt, check with your accountant.

In “Adjust fees and costs,” select “Full / Flex / other” in the Shipping field and enter the per-unit shipping cost shown in your orders. In Flex, Mercado Livre does not deduct shipping from your payout — the cost is your own delivery.

It depends on turnover and category. The calculator marks 20% or more as healthy, 10% to 20% as tight, and below 10% as risky, because returns, promotions, and fixed operating costs still come out of this margin.
