Pricing spreadsheet for Mercado Livre and Shopee: the right columns, formulas, and where it falls short

A pricing spreadsheet for Mercado Livre and Shopee needs columns for cost, weight, category commission, shipping cost (or the fixed fee for the price range), tax, Ads, packaging, and margin, plus a formula that divides: price = (cost + packaging + shipping) ÷ (1 − commission − tax − Ads − margin). In Excel or Google Sheets, it's =(B2+C2+D2)/(1-E2-F2-G2-H2). The reason most spreadsheets get it wrong isn't the formula. It's two missing columns: the package weight and the price range.

A spreadsheet is great for learning the math and testing a new product. It starts to mislead you when it becomes the pricing source for an entire catalog that no one updates. I'll show you the template, the formulas, and where it breaks down. If you'd rather skip the setup, Milewa's free spreadsheet comes ready to use with 2026 fees.

#Columns in a pricing spreadsheet

Column What goes in it Example
Product name or SKU 500 ml insulated bottle
Cost average stock cost R$ 25,00
Packaging box, bag, label R$ 0,60
Billable weight whichever is greater: actual weight or L×W×H÷6,000 300 g
Channel and type ML Classic, ML Premium, Shopee ML Classic
Commission by category (ML) or price range (Shopee) 12%
Shipping or fixed fee ML table by weight and price range, or Shopee flat fee R$ 8,15
Tax effective tax rate for your tax regime 6%
ADS percentage of the price you invest 0%
Target margin what you want to keep 15%
Calculated price formula R$ 50,37
Current price what's listed R$ 49,90
Real margin margin at the current price 14,4%

The last two columns are the most useful day to day: they show the gap between the price the calculation calls for and the price you're charging.

#The formulas, in plain English

With the columns in this order: B (cost), C (packaging), D (shipping or flat fee), E (commission), F (tax), G (ADS), and H (margin), with all percentages as decimals:

  • Calculated price: =(B2+C2+D2)/(1-E2-F2-G2-H2)
  • Actual margin at the current price (column J): =(J2-J2*(E2+F2+G2)-B2-C2-D2)/J2
  • Profit per sale at the current price: =J2-J2*(E2+F2+G2)-B2-C2-D2

For Mercado Livre shipping costs, build the official table in a separate tab (weight in rows, price ranges in columns) and look it up with ÍNDICE e CORRESP. The complete table, verified in September 2026, is at Mercado Livre 2026 shipping table. For Shopee, a formula with SE will determine the price range: up to R$ 79,99, 20% and R$ 4,50; from R$ 80 to R$ 99,99, 14% and R$ 16; from R$ 100 to R$ 199,99, 14% and R$ 20; R$ 200 and up, 14% and R$ 26.

#The price-range problem: a formula that depends on its own result

Mercado Livre shipping costs and Shopee fees depend on the price range, and the range depends on the price you're calculating. That's a circular reference. Here's the simplest way to handle it:

  1. Calculate the price using the shipping cost for an estimated range.
  2. In the next column, show which range the calculated price falls into.
  3. If it's a different range, use the shipping cost for the new range and recalculate.

For a product that costs R$ 45 and weighs 400 grams, with a 15% margin, the first calculation gives R$ 80,37 using the R$ 8,25 shipping cost. Since R$ 80,37 is already in the range above R$ 79, the correct shipping cost is R$ 13,85, bringing the correct price to R$ 88,73. I explain each step in the selling price formula.

#The most common pricing spreadsheet mistakes

  1. Using markup instead of the formula with division. “Cost × 2” doesn't account for commission and tax coming out of the price. See markup: why it can mislead you.
  2. Using one shipping cost for every product. Shipping ranges from R$ 5,65 to over R$ 100, depending on weight and price range.
  3. Using one commission rate for every category. On Mercado Livre, the Classic rate ranges from 10% to 14%.
  4. Using the last purchase cost instead of the average cost.
  5. Calculating tax on the payout instead of the price.
  6. Leaving ADS out of the calculation. A price that doesn't cover advertising only delivers the planned margin on products that aren't advertised.
  7. An outdated spreadsheet. Marketplaces change their tables, suppliers change prices, and you change packaging. A spreadsheet from three months ago is a list of old prices.

In practice. A pet supplies seller had a carefully built spreadsheet with correct formulas and 180 products. The problem was the date: it was created in January, using the R$ 6 flat fee that Mercado Livre discontinued in March and supplier costs from the start of the year. After updating shipping and costs in October, 41 of the 180 products had an actual margin at least 5 percentage points below what the spreadsheet showed, and 9 were losing money.

#When a spreadsheet is enough—and when it isn't

A spreadsheet is enough to:

  • learn the calculation and understand the impact of each line item;
  • price a new product before buying stock;
  • a small catalog of a few dozen products, reviewed every month.

It’s not enough when:

  • your catalog has more than a few dozen listings;
  • you sell on more than one marketplace, each with different fees;
  • prices change with promotions and campaigns;
  • you want to know the margin on what actually happened, order by order—not on the planned price.

#The free spreadsheet and what comes next

The free Milewa spreadsheet, included in the Real Profit on Marketplaces course, shows the full calculation for a sale on Mercado Livre and Shopee using 2026 fees: commission, shipping cost based on the official table, tax, product cost, and Ads. It’s the best way to get started.

As your catalog grows, Milewa runs the same calculation for every real order, using the commission and shipping charged by the marketplace, updated product cost, tax, and Ads for each listing. #Frequently asked questions

What columns should a marketplace pricing spreadsheet include?

At a minimum: product, cost, package weight, channel, listing type, category commission, shipping cost or fixed fee, tax, Ads percentage, packaging, target margin, calculated price, current price, and actual margin at the current price. Without weight and price ranges, the spreadsheet can’t calculate Mercado Livre shipping costs or Shopee’s fixed fee correctly.

What’s the pricing spreadsheet formula?

Price = (cost + packaging + shipping or fixed fee) ÷ (1 − commission − tax − Ads − margin). In Excel or Google Sheets, with percentages as decimals: =(B2+C2+D2)/(1-E2-F2-G2-H2). Then check whether the price falls within the shipping or commission range you used. If it changed, recalculate using the new range values.
