How to price on Shopee in 2026: the formula, commission tiers, and the right price for each cost

To set prices on Shopee, use price = (cost + packaging + tier's fixed fee) ÷ (1 − commission − tax − margin) and check that the result falls within the tier you used. With a cost of R$ 30, 6% tax, and a 20% margin, the price is R$ 65. With a cost of R$ 55, there's no price between R$ 80 and R$ 125 that gives you a 20% margin: the calculation jumps to the next tier, making R$ 126 the right price. Shopee doesn't charge by weight or category, so the price tier is what matters.

There's huge demand for a "Shopee calculator," and for good reason: the fee schedule looks simple, but three price thresholds can trip you up. I'll walk you through the steps, share a price table by cost, and explain adjustments for campaigns, Ads, and CPF sellers.

#The commission tiers that affect your price

Item price Commission Fixed fee
up to R$ 79.99 20% R$ 4.50 (below R$ 9, half the price)
R$ 80 to R$ 99,99 14% R$ 16
R$ 100 to R$ 199,99 14% R$ 20
R$ 200 or more 14% R$ 26

#How to price on Shopee, step by step

  1. Choose the likely tier based on the cost.
  2. Add the amounts in reais: product cost, packaging, and the tier's fixed fee.
  3. Add the percentages: the tier's commission, tax, and your target margin.
  4. Divide the first number by (1 − the second number).
  5. Check the tier. If the price falls into a different tier, recalculate using that tier's commission and fixed fee.

Example: R$ 30 cost, R$ 0,60 packaging, 6% tax, and 20% margin:

  • Amounts in reais: R$ 30 + R$ 0,60 + R$ 4,50 = R$ 35,10
  • Percentages: 20% + 6% + 20% = 46%; divisor: 0,54
  • Price: R$ 35,10 ÷ 0,54 = R$ 65,00, within the first tier.

#Price table by cost (20% margin)

With 6% tax and R$ 0,60 packaging, excluding ads:

Product cost Price for a 20% margin Range Profit per sale
R$ 12 R$ 31,67 up to R$ 79.99 R$ 6,34
R$ 30 R$ 65,00 up to R$ 79.99 R$ 13,00
R$ 55 R$ 126,00 R$ 100 to R$ 199,99 R$ 25,20
R$ 90 R$ 184,33 R$ 100 to R$ 199,99 R$ 36,86

The third row is the most instructive. With a cost of R$ 55, the price in the first range would exceed R$ 79,99, so the calculation moves to the R$ 80 to R$ 99,99 range. There, the calculated price (R$ 119,33) is already outside the range. The calculation only works in the R$ 100 to R$ 199,99 range, at R$ 126. Between R$ 80 and R$ 125, this product simply can't deliver a 20% margin.

At R$ 79,90, still in the first range, it loses money: −R$ 0,97 per sale. Mid-priced products costing between R$ 45 and R$ 65 are hit hardest on Shopee because the first range can't cover the cost, while the second has a fixed fee of R$ 16.

#The three price cliffs: prices to avoid

Just above R$ 80, R$ 100, and R$ 200, your payout drops even though you charge more. These dead zones are where you receive less than you would just below the threshold:

Step Dead zone
R$ 80 R$ 80,00 to R$ 87,77
R$ 100 R$ 100,00 to R$ 104,63
R$ 200 R$ 200,00 to R$ 206,96

If the formula gives you a price within a dead zone, you have two options: price just below the threshold or go above the zone. I explain how to choose in Shopee's three price cliffs.

#Adjustments that change the price

Shopee Ads. If you plan to advertise the product, include the ad percentage in the divisor. With 8% in Ads, the price for a product costing R$ 30 goes from R$ 65 to R$ 76,30. See the Shopee Ads: how it works guide for ROAS benchmarks.

Featured Campaign. Adds 3.5 percentage points to the commission. To maintain a 20% margin, the price for a product costing R$ 30 goes up to R$ 69,50. If the campaign also requires a discount, calculate both together before enrolling.

CPF seller with more than 450 orders in 90 days. Add R$ 3 per item to expenses in reais. For a product costing R$ 30, the price for a 20% margin rises from R$ 65 to about R$ 70,56.

Bundle. For low-priced products, the fixed fee of R$ 4,50 is charged per listing sold. A bundle of two or three units pays the fee only once and often doubles the margin on items under R$ 30.

In practice. A stationery store used the same 2.2 markup across its entire catalog. Notebooks costing R$ 9 sold for R$ 19,80 and left less than a 3% margin because the fixed fee took too big a bite. Pencil cases costing R$ 38 sold for R$ 83,60, within the R$ 80 price cliff's dead zone, and earned less than they would have at R$ 79,90. After repricing with the formula, bundling the notebooks, and moving the pencil cases out of the dead zone, the store's average margin rose from 11% to 19% without increasing its average price.

#Shopee calculator: when to use it and when it's not enough

For a single product, the Milewa calculator has a Shopee mode with the October 2026 fee table. Enter your cost, tax, and margin, and it gives you the price while flagging any dead zone.

For your entire store, prices need to be reviewed whenever costs change or a listing joins a campaign. Milewa calculates the ideal price for each Shopee listing based on your target margin, using the correct commission range and fixed fee. It also shows the actual margin on your orders so you can check whether your prices deliver what the calculation promised.

#Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate the selling price on Shopee?

Use: price = (product cost + packaging + fixed fee for the range) ÷ (1 − commission − tax − target margin). Up to R$ 79,99, the commission is 20% and the fixed fee is R$ 4,50; from R$ 80 to R$ 99,99, it's 14% and R$ 16; from R$ 100 to R$ 199,99, it's 14% and R$ 20; at R$ 200 and above, it's 14% and R$ 26. If the calculated price falls into a different range, recalculate using that range's values.

What margin should you use when pricing on Shopee?

Your margin before ads needs to cover Shopee Ads, returns, and your store's fixed expenses. A 20% pre-ad margin is a reasonable starting point if you spend little on ads. If you spend 8% or more on ads, you'll need a higher margin.

How much should you raise your price to join Shopee's Featured Campaign?

The campaign adds 3.5 percentage points to the commission. To maintain the same margin, you need to raise the price. For a product costing R$ 30 with a 20% margin, the price goes from R$ 65 to R$ 69,50. If the campaign also requires a discount, calculate the profit with both the discount and higher commission before enrolling the product.
