Shein seller fees in 2026: 18% commission, payouts, and a comparison with ML and Shopee
Shein charges an 18% commission on the final price in most categories for orders created on or after March 1, 2026, and 20% on women's clothing, since October 2025. New sellers pay 0% for the first 30 days. Commission applies only to delivered orders, and the official page says there is no fixed fee. Payouts are made every Monday for deliveries confirmed 7 days earlier. What Shein does not openly disclose is the seller's shipping cost, and that can make or break the numbers.
Shein has become a third sales channel for many stores that already sell on Mercado Livre and Shopee. I'll cover what's confirmed in the official policy, checked in October 2026, what still depends on your dashboard, and how to compare it with the other two.
#Shein's commission, according to its official policy
| Period and category | Commission |
|---|---|
| First 30 days after registration | 0% |
| Women's clothing (orders from 10/22/2025) | 20% |
| Other categories (orders from 03/01/2026) | 18% |
| For reference, through 2024 | it was 10%, then 16% |
How commission is calculated:
- On the product's final price, after discounts and store coupons created by the seller.
- Only on orders fully processed and delivered. Commission doesn't apply to returns, refunds, or cancellations. If it was already charged on a returned sale, it's refunded.
- You can find your statement in the Seller Center under Finances > My Income.
The FAQ on the same page still mentions 16% in a few places. That text has not been updated. For your calculations, use the rule by date and category above.
#Fixed costs, registration, and payouts
- No monthly fee or fixed costs: the official page says "free registration, zero fixed costs, commission only on completed sales". It does not mention a fixed fee per item.
- Business registration: the portal asks for business details. The official site does not explicitly state that a CNPJ is required, but industry sources say it is mandatory, including for MEIs.
- Payouts: Shein confirms delivery to the seller 7 days after its logistics provider confirms delivery to the customer. Every Monday, it notifies the bank, and the money arrives in 1 to 3 business days.
#What isn't public: shipping
The terms state that, for marketplace orders, a partner carrier picks up the package at the seller's warehouse and delivers it to the buyer. How much the seller pays for shipping isn't listed on a public page. Industry sources say Shein subsidizes part of the cost and the seller's share follows a rate table in the Seller Center, which requires a login.
In practice, this means that commission alone doesn't tell you whether Shein is cheaper. Before listing a product there, check the shipping cost for your product's weight and price range in the dashboard. Without that number, any comparison is incomplete.
#Comparing Mercado Livre and Shopee
Confirmed fees only, for a product priced at R$ 59,90 and weighing 400 grams (Mercado Livre with a 12% Classic commission and green reputation):
| Channel | Commission | Other confirmed fees | Confirmed total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mercado Livre | R$ 7,19 | R$ 8,25 shipping cost | R$ 15,44 (25,8%) |
| Shopee | R$ 11,98 | R$ 4,50 fixed fee | R$ 16,48 (27,5%) |
| Shein | R$ 10,78 | seller shipping: check in the dashboard | R$ 10,78 + shipping |
If your share of Shein's shipping cost is less than R$ 4,66, it's cheaper than Mercado Livre for this product. If it's more, it's more expensive. For women's fashion, at 20%, the commission is already R$ 11,98—the same as Shopee's.

#30 days with no commission: how to make the most of them
The first 30 days with 0% commission are a low-cost trial. Keep these three things in mind so you can learn from it:
- Test products you already know sell well on another channel so you can compare conversion rates.
- Track the actual shipping cost for every order during the trial to know the true cost after day 30.
- Set prices with the 18% (or 20%) commission in mind. A price that only works without commission will put you at a loss on day 31.
In practice. A swimwear store joined Shein with the same prices as on Shopee and sold well in its first month, with no commission. In the second month, with a 20% commission on women's clothing and the seller's shipping costs, the margin on its best-selling bikinis fell from 24% to 11%. The prices had been set based on the free month. After recalculating prices with the actual commission and shipping costs, the store raised prices by R$ 6 on its best-selling styles and kept its margin above 20%.
#Is selling on Shein worth it?
It can be a good fit if your products appeal to the platform's audience—especially fashion, accessories, and home goods—and you want another channel with no fixed costs. Before joining, run the numbers: your category's commission, the seller's shipping cost for your product's weight, and your own cost. If your product already has a tight margin on Mercado Livre and Shopee, adding a third channel won't solve that.
#Check your margin by channel before adding another
Milewa integrates with Mercado Livre and Shopee (Shein isn't among the integrations) and shows the real margin for each product on each platform, including the fees actually charged. It's a good starting point for deciding which products have room to sell on Shein: products already making more than 25% on your current channels are natural candidates.
#Frequently asked questions
How much does Shein charge sellers?
For orders placed on or after March 1, 2026, the commission is 18% of the product's final price in most categories. For women's clothing, it's 20% on orders placed on or after October 22, 2025. New sellers pay 0% for the first 30 days after registration. Commission is charged only on orders that are processed and delivered.
Does Shein charge a fixed fee per sale?
The official seller page says registration is free, there are no fixed costs, and commission is charged only on completed sales. It does not mention a fixed fee per item. Industry sources also say there is no such fee. Check your dashboard, as the policy may change.
Who pays for shipping on Shein?
Shein does not publish a seller shipping rate table on a public page. The terms state that a carrier picks up the package at the seller's warehouse and delivers it to the buyer. Industry sources say Shein subsidizes part of the shipping cost and the seller pays their share according to the rate table in the Seller Center, which requires a login. Check this amount in your dashboard before setting prices.
When does Shein pay sellers?
Shein confirms delivery to the seller 7 days after its logistics provider confirms delivery to the customer. Every Monday, it sends the payment to the bank, and the money arrives in the account within 1 to 3 business days.
