Selling on Magalu in 2026: commission, fixed fee, shipping, and marketplace requirements

The Magalu marketplace has no monthly or signup fees. You pay a commission per sale, which varies by category and payout model (Magalu cites 18% as the standard rate), plus a fixed fee per item for products over R$ 10. New sellers get a 9,9% promotional rate for up to 3 months or R$ 100 mil in sales. Magalu Entregas shipping costs are shared with the seller, with a subsidy only above R$ 79. You must have a CNPJ that has been active for more than 3 months to sell.

Magalu is the channel many Mercado Livre and Shopee stores consider as their third step. The challenge is that it publishes fewer public figures than the other two: the category commission table and fixed fee are available in the seller portal. Here's what's confirmed on official pages as of October 2026, and how to calculate your costs.

#What Magalu charges

Item Official policy
Monthly fee, signup fee, exit fee None
Commission Varies by category and payout model; 18% cited as the standard rate
Promotion for new sellers 9,9% commission for 3 months or until R$ 100 mil in sales, with early payout
Fixed fee per item Charged on products over R$ 10; amount varies by category
Shipping (Magalu Entregas) Shared between the seller and Magalu; subsidy only above R$ 79

The category commission table and fixed fee in reais are not published on public pages; they're available in the seller portal. Figures shared on blogs vary widely, so check the rates for your category before setting prices.

#Requirements to sell on Magalu

  • A CNPJ that has been active for more than 3 months. You can't sell with a CPF. MEI businesses are eligible.
  • Issue an NF-e for every sale.
  • A bank account under the same CNPJ (you can open a MagaluPay account during registration).

If you're still selling as an individual on Mercado Livre and Shopee, Magalu is another reason to formalize your business. I explain your options in Do you need a CNPJ to sell on Mercado Livre?.

#Payouts: early by default

Payouts are weekly, and the default is early payout: you get paid upfront even when the customer pays in installments. You can switch to the standard payout flow in the Magalu Portal, and your choice may affect the commission. Only delivered orders generate financial entries; the commission, fixed fee, and shipping (when Magalu handles fulfillment) are charged to the seller.

#Shipping with Magalu Entregas

The delivery cost may be shared between you and Magalu, depending on package weight and your on-time dispatch rate:

  • Products over R$ 79: Magalu subsidizes part of the shipping cost, making it free or cheaper for the customer.
  • Products under R$ 79: No subsidy.
  • More than 97% of orders dispatched on time: Up to 50% off your share of the shipping cost.

Options include pickup, drop-off at a Magalu Entregas location, fulfillment, and same-day delivery through a partner carrier.

Magalu's own pages contradict each other: one FAQ says shipping is "at no additional cost," while the Magalu Entregas page and financial documentation show that sellers pay their share. When calculating your costs, assume you'll pay part of the shipping.

#How to compare with Mercado Livre and Shopee

At the standard 18% commission on a R$ 99,90 product, excluding shipping and the fixed fee, which depend on your category and product weight:

Channel Commission Other fees Note
Mercado Livre (Classic, 12%) R$ 11,99 Shipping cost based on weight and price tier (R$ 12,95 to R$ 14,45 for up to 1 kg) public table
Shopee R$ 13,99 fixed fee of R$ 16 public table
Magalu (18%) R$ 17,98 category fixed fee + part of the shipping cost check the portal
Magalu, new seller promotion (9,9%) R$ 9,89 fixed fee + part of the shipping cost for up to 3 months

During the 9,9% promotion, Magalu may cost less than the other two on many products. After that, with an 18% commission plus a fixed fee and shipping, it tends to cost more. You can only get an exact calculation using the figures in your portal.

In practice. A seller of household goods joined Magalu during the 9,9% promotion and copied their entire catalog using their Mercado Livre prices. During the three months of the promotion, their margin was similar to what they earned on the other channels. In the fourth month, with the category commission and fixed fee, products under R$ 79 that had no shipping subsidy started losing money. They kept only products over R$ 79 on Magalu that had a margin above 25% on the other channels, and raised prices by 6%.

#Is it worth selling on Magalu?

It may be a good fit if you have a CNPJ, can issue invoices without hassle, ship on time, and sell products over R$ 79 with a healthy margin. The new seller promotion is a good opportunity to test conversion at a low cost, as long as you calculate prices using the commission that will apply afterward.

Before joining, calculate the cost for each product using three figures from the portal: the category commission, the fixed fee, and your share of shipping based on package weight. Compare the two largest channels in Mercado Livre or Shopee: where to sell.

#Choose what to list based on your current margin

Milewa integrates with Mercado Livre and Shopee (Magalu is not currently integrated) and shows the real margin for each product on each channel. Products with a margin above 25% on your current channels are natural candidates for Magalu. Products with tight margins on Mercado Livre rarely do better on a channel with a higher commission.
