MercadoLíder, Gold, and Platinum in 2026: sales and revenue requirements, and what it takes to qualify
To become MercadoLíder in 2026, you need 230 completed sales and R$ 37 mil in revenue; Gold requires 575 sales and R$ 118,4 mil; Platinum requires 1.725 sales and R$ 296 mil. The period isn't the calendar year: it's the last 3 months plus the days elapsed in the current month. And sales volume alone isn't enough: you also need a dark green status and to keep complaints, mediations, cancellations, and late shipments below the limits. On average, Platinum means about 575 sales and R$ 98,7 mil per month, every month.
The badge can make you money: more visibility, shipping discounts, and greater buyer trust. But I've seen stores give up a quarter's profit to hold on to Platinum through promotions. I'll show you the official rules and how to run the numbers to avoid that mistake.
#MercadoLíder requirements in 2026
The sales volume requirements, measured over the last 3 months plus the current month:
| Badge | Completed sales | Revenue from completed sales | Approximate monthly average |
|---|---|---|---|
| MercadoLíder | 230 or more | R$ 37.000 or more | 77 sales and R$ 12,3 mil |
| MercadoLíder Gold | 575 or more | R$ 118.400 or more | 192 sales and R$ 39,5 mil |
| MercadoLíder Platinum | 1.725 or more | R$ 296.000 or more | 575 sales and R$ 98,7 mil |
The monthly average is approximate (the total divided by 3), because the window includes the days in the current month. Use it as a pace target.
In addition to sales volume, all three levels have the same requirements:
- More than 4 months since registration.
- Validated documents and contact information, plus proof of tax compliance.
- Dark green reputation indicator.
- Complaints below 1% of sales.
- Complaints mediated by Mercado Livre below 0.5%.
- Orders canceled by you below 0.5%.
- Incorrect shipments (late) below 6%.
Two details that are easy to miss: revenue doesn't include sales from Free listings, and MercadoLíder sellers can only list products as Classic or Premium.
#How the reputation indicator is measured
The reputation indicator only appears after 10 completed sales in 365 days. The measurement window changes based on your sales volume: with 101 or more sales in the last 60 days, reputation is based on the last 60 days; below that, it's based on the last 365 days.
The three factors are complaints, orders canceled by you, and incorrect shipments. For a high-volume store, that means a bad month shows up quickly—and clears quickly, too. For a low-volume store, a problem can take a year to disappear.
#MercadoLíder benefits
According to the official pages, the benefits are:
- More visibility in search, increasing with each medal level.
- A discount on free shipping costs. The discounted shipping rates apply to MercadoLíder sellers with a green reputation; sellers with yellow, orange, or red reputations pay the undiscounted rates.
- Personalized support via chat.
- Training and meetings with the Mercado Livre team.
The badge also influences buyers' decisions, especially in categories with many sellers offering the same product.
#The mistake of buying the badge with discounts
Here's the trap. The volume requirements are based on sales and revenue, not profit. When a store is close to losing or earning a medal, it's tempting to push volume with aggressive promotions, coupons, and more Ads. The reputation indicator benefits. Your margin doesn't.
Take a Gold store that sells 450 units a month of an R$ 80 product weighing 400 grams, with an 18% margin, and needs 120 more sales to keep its status. It offers a 20% discount. At R$ 64, each sale that used to leave R$ 14,40 now leaves R$ 6,88 (shipping drops to a lower rate, which helps a little, but not enough). The problem is that the discount doesn't apply only to the 120 extra sales—it applies to the 450 sales that would have happened anyway. The store earns R$ 826 on the new sales and gives up R$ 3.384 on the sales it already had. Keeping the medal cost about R$ 2.560 that month.
Sometimes it's worth paying. The medal's visibility may be worth more than the cost. But this is an investment decision, and you need the numbers: How much will it cost to keep the medal this month, and how much margin-generating revenue will it bring in over the next three months?
In practice. An electronics seller showed me the quarter when he fought to keep Platinum. To reach 1.725 sales, he put 40% of his catalog on promotion and doubled his Ads spend for six weeks. Revenue was up 22% from the previous quarter, but profit was down 35%. The following quarter, with the medal secured and no promotions running, profit returned to normal—but that quarter's profit was gone.
#How to reach the next medal without sacrificing margin
- Address quality thresholds first. Complaints, cancellations, and late shipments can cost you the medal even if your sales volume is high enough. They also cost you money directly. I explain the impact in reputation is more than vanity.
- Calculate your pace. Divide what's left by the number of days in the window and see if your usual pace will get you there. If it will, don't change a thing.
- If you need more volume, promote high-margin products. The same number of sales can come from products with a 30% margin or a 5% margin. Promote the former.
- Put a price on the effort. Before running a promotion to earn the medal, calculate the profit you'll give up and compare it with the expected visibility gains.
#Where to track your medal and profit together
The Mercado Livre dashboard shows your reputation indicator and metrics. What it doesn't show is how much profit each sale leaves you. That's why the decision to "push volume" is often made in the dark.
In Milewa, the Reputation screen shows your reputation indicator, current medal, and what's needed for the next one. Each order's margin appears alongside its fees, shipping, tax, and Ads costs. You can see whether the volume keeping your medal comes from products that cover your operating costs or from sales that only happen because of the discount.
